Railway Recruitment Boards conducts the RRB JE exam to recruit the candidates for the Junior Engineer posts across its various departments. RRB JE exam takes over one year to complete for various reasons. The candidates have to wait for the results and prepare for the next phase of the exam. The candidates should keep in mind the pattern of each phase of the RRB JE exam as explained below.
RRB JE exam is conducted in the following phases
The first stage CBT is the screening exam only. It means that the marks secured in the CBT 1 will not be considered in preparing the final result.
It is the out in the most important stage of RRB JE exam because some well-deserving candidates are screened out in the CBT 1 only due to one or two marks. CBT 1 is an aptitude test which works as a filter for most of the candidates. The RRB JE CBT 1 exam pattern is as follows

There can be variations in the number of questions as given in the above table because the table is indicative in nature. For eligible Person with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) the time limit will be 120 minutes.
The RRB JE CBT 2 stage of the exam is the main exam because the marks secured by the candidates are considered for the final merit. We can say that the CBT 2 is the final stage for the RRB JE exam because if the candidate is medically fit and conforms to all the eligibility criteria of RRB JE exam, then he will be selected if he scores above the cutoff in the CBT 2. The total number of candidates to be shortlisted for 2nd Stage shall be 15 times the community wise total vacancy of Posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in 1st Stage CBT.
The candidates should understand the CBT 2 exam pattern to ensure their selection in the RRB JE exam. The exam pattern of CBT 2 is as follows

The section-wise distribution given in the above table is only indicative and there may be some variations in the actual question papers.
There will be minimum qualifying marks for each category. Each candidate must secure the qualifying marks to remain in the competition. RRB JE exam authority will decide the cut-off and the candidates who have secured equal to or more than the prescribed cut-off will be called for document verification and medical examination.
Shortlisting of Candidates for the DV shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by them in 2nd Stage CBT.
RRB JE- Document Verification and Medical Examination
The RRBs declare the RRB JE result for CBT 2 and the qualified candidates will be called for the Document Verification(DV) and Medical Examination at the respective centres as mentioned in their admit card.
After the document verification and medical test, the final result will be declared by the respective RRBs
